# Eventu

> Eventu is a web platform to plan, share and fund group events. Organizers create an event, share one link, guests RSVP and contribute money, and the collected funds are issued as a Visa prepaid card. Creating events and messaging attendees is free; Eventu only takes a fee when contributions are collected.

## Core concepts

- Event: a gathering with a title, date, time, time zone, location, description, optional cover photo and an optional contribution goal.
- Organizer: a signed-in person who manages events.
- Roles on an event:
  - Owner: created the event. Has every permission. The owner can never be removed from the event.
  - Co-owner: same permissions as the owner. "Owners" means owner and co-owner.
  - Co-organizer: can do everything except cancel or delete the event.
  - Guest: anyone with the event link. Guests do not need an account.

## Free to use

- Creating events is free.
- Using Eventu has no cost: creating and editing events, sharing the link, collecting RSVPs, and sending messages, reminders and notifications to attendees are all free.
- Eventu only earns when you get paid: a fee of 5% (minimum $1.50) is taken from contributions collected for an event. If an event collects no money, it costs nothing.

## How to create an event

1. Go to https://eventuapp.com/create (or press "Start an event").
2. Enter the event title.
3. Pick the date, start time and time zone.
4. Enter the location.
5. Write a description of the event.
6. Optionally add a cover photo.
7. Optionally turn on contributions: set a goal amount and/or a per-guest amount.
8. Sign in or create an organizer account if not signed in yet.
9. Publish. The event gets a public link of the form https://eventuapp.com/e/{event-slug}.

## Repeating events

- Events can repeat daily, weekly or monthly. The next occurrence is created after the current one is settled or cancelled.
- Repeats keep the same local start time in the event's time zone, including through daylight saving changes. Monthly events on day 29-31 move to the last day of shorter months.

## Sharing and invitations

- Share the event link anywhere.
- Send invitations by WhatsApp and email from the event dashboard.
- Invitations can be resent.
- Guests receive automatic reminders before the event, timed in the event's time zone. Failed reminders are retried a limited number of times.
- Each event offers a calendar file so guests can add it to their calendar.

## Guest flow

1. Open the event link.
2. Read the event details (date, time, location, description).
3. RSVP.
4. If contributions are on, pay the contribution by debit or credit card on the secure payment form.
5. See a confirmation. If the payment result is not immediately clear, the guest sees "We're confirming your payment" and is never charged twice.
6. Any visitor can use "Report event" on a public event page.

## Money, fees and the Visa prepaid card

- Platform fee: 5% of the amount collected, minimum $1.50.
- When the event's goal is met or the event closes, the amount collected minus the fee is issued as a Visa prepaid card, exact to the cent. Nothing is rounded.
  - Example: $50.00 collected, fee $2.50, card $47.50.
  - Example: $20.00 collected, fee $1.50, card $18.50.
- Minimum card value: $10.00 after the fee. If an event closes with less than $10.00 left after the fee, no card is issued and every guest is refunded.
  - Example: $10.00 collected, fee $1.50, $8.50 left, so all guests are refunded.
- Cancelling an event refunds every guest who paid.
- Once a card is being issued, the event stops accepting new payments.
- The card is delivered by email to the recipient chosen by the organizer and can be viewed from the organizer's Cards page. The card email can be resent.
- Eventu does not use in-app purchases; payments are real-world money between people for a physical event.

## Organizer dashboard

- Events list: every event the organizer owns or helps organize.
- Event page: guest list with RSVP and payment status, amount collected versus goal.
- Messages: send a message to guests; the result shows how many were reached (for example "Sent to 8 of 10").
- Edit event details.
- Manage co-owners and co-organizers.
- Block a guest.
- Close an event (stops RSVPs and contributions and triggers the card or refunds).
- Cancel or delete an event (owners only).
- Cards: every Visa prepaid card issued for the organizer's events.
- Activity log: an append-only record of who changed what (account, event, payment, refund and card actions).

## Account

- Sign in with email and password at https://eventuapp.com/organizer/sign-in. Password reset by email.
- Face ID sign-in can be turned on for faster access.
- Notifications for event activity can be enabled after sign-in.
- Delete account: Account, then "Delete my account" (or https://eventuapp.com/delete-account). Repeated wrong passwords lock the action for 15 minutes.
